BIO

Wesley Crispus is a Chennai-based saxophonist, woodwind educator, and music programme coordinator whose work moves between performance, education, and collaborative music making. He leads the woodwind programme at KM Music Conservatory and is part of the A. R. Rahman Foundation’s Sunshine Orchestra programme, where he works with young musicians through woodwind training, ensemble development, and performance.

As an educator, Wesley works across saxophone, flute, and clarinet, with a particular interest in helping students move from individual lessons to confident ensemble performance. His work includes developing woodwind training programmes, supporting teachers and students, and creating opportunities for young musicians to experience the stage. Through the Sunshine Orchestra, he has also worked across the four orchestral sections—strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion—and developed the Sunshine Junior Orchestra.

As a performer, Wesley's musical interests extend from jazz and contemporary music to interdisciplinary and experimental work. He has collaborated with musicians, dancers, and theatre artists, exploring how sound, movement, technology, and storytelling can come together in performance. The saxophone remains at the centre of his practice, while his curiosity continues to take him into different musical settings and collaborations.

Wesley previously served as Music Coordinator at APL Global School, working with the Cambridge International GCSE, AS, and A Level Music programmes, and later as Academic Manager at Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, contributing to academic coordination and examination procedures.

With an academic background in both music and automotive engineering, Wesley brings together creative practice, education, and an interest in technology. He earned a Distinction from the London College of Music in 2020 and has studied with internationally recognised musicians and educators.

His professional associations include work as an official endorser for KeyLeaves.
